a deep dive into the coronavirus pandemic in new jersey

introduction

South Jersey shore towns battling to keep visitors out.
Immigrants and the homeless more isolated and forgotten than ever.
Nurses faced with war-like conditions overnight.
Students and professors straining to adjust to a new life of online learning, while foreign students were

stranded and unable to go home.
These are just some of the unprecedented stories a Rutgers student I-Team discovered across New Jersey during the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020.

The dynamic nature of this virus revealed how unprepared governments, administrators, and

organizers were for a pandemic, with federal and regional policies changing on an almost

daily basis. The pandemic’s historic effect on Rutgers, on New Brunswick, and on the state are almost impossible to measure.
